Announcement, Everyone!

Many of you know my sister because I post her crazy stories here as well. What you might not know is that she is also an expert on early childhood special needs. Later this week she is talking at a local MOPS about how to modify child behaviors. For example, did you know that you can make your kids great with a mood ring, a rock, and pair of rabbit ears. She like McGyver for parents!

Watch for more of her tips here!

  1. Thanks Dee! Mcgyver Mom, I like that! You should see what I can do with some duck tape!

    Seriously,

My daughter has trouble focusing on her work at scool, so we give her a mood ring to wear on her writing hand. It is a visual reminder to stay focused.

When your kids are bouncing off the walls this winter and wound too tight, put a stone in their pocket and tell them to imagine it is very very heavy. Play it up and ask them too come up with things that are really heavy (Bricks, 100 marbles, etc.) Tri it! Just talking about heavy things in my pocket makes me slower!

When I pull out the rabbit ears, the kids hustle to clean up, beacuse otherwise you have to wear the turtle shell on your back at the dinner table. That's no fun!

Tune in for some more at a later date!
